Verification of Identity (VOI)
A VOI check confirms the identity of a person. You must verify your identity in order to complete the conveyancing process.
VOI per person costs $11.55 (incl GST)
You can complete the check using proof of identity documents such as an Australian or foreign passport, drivers licence or photo card, birth or citizenship certificate, Medicare, Centrelink or Department of Veterans’ Affairs card.
After your fincne has been unconditionally approved, you will receive a text message from a number named 'ID Secure' with a link to your VOI check.
- You must take an action to the SMS request within 96 hours as links will expire if you don’t complete the VOI within that given period.
Alternatively, you can complete a VOI check offline at an Australian Post Office, through a face-to-face interview. If you chose to complete the check offline, please contact us for more details as this procedure is more complicated.
A VOI check is valid for 2 years, even for a subsequent property that you may purchase.
